Sometimes a gut job is just not necessary. If the bones are good, and the current layout works for you, why bring the bathroom back to the studs!

Recently a client asked me to refresh their master bath. They are planning to move in a few years, but the bathroom was dated and needed an update.

We examined all the aspects of the space – what could stay and what could easily be changed & transform the space.

We focused first on the vanities:

Before
Before
After

The vanities were in excellent condition, but were a light oak, and dated. The drawers and layout functioned well for the client – so why change it out?

Instead, we updated!

First, we looked for new counter tops to replace the Corian.

We found this great marble, honed Imperial Danby at Fordham Marble with the assistance of our favorite salesperson Lisa Belvedere.

Next, we decided to update the vanities simply by painting them and adding a glaze. Heidi Holzer and her team transformed them. The new crystal knobs added a glam feature.

Probably the most dramatic change was to the walls. We removed the striped wallpaper & worked with Heidi Holzer contemplating a few options before finally choosing this dreamy undulating design.

New sinks and Newport Brass fixtures were then selected.

We accessorized the windows with a Cowtan & Tout fabric which tied the blue and cream color scheme together. Not forgetting a detail, the dressing table ottoman was also re-upholstered in the same fabric and rope trim from Samuel & Sons. Fabrication by Leatherwood Designs, with perfect lining up of the design pattern.

Now is the perfect time to begin a conversation about what your new space could look like. We invite you to contact us.
