Thinking Outside of the Box
Sometimes you have the opportunity to work with a client that is willing to think “out of the box”, explore new concepts, options that maybe they haven’t been exposed to before. Maybe something that hasn’t been seen at a neighbor’s home.
Currently I am renovating a kitchen for a client that has in fact explored with my guidance using materials they might not ordinarily consider. Their existing kitchen was very traditional, with dark cabinets, granite counter tops, tile floor. Now they wanted something more contemporary.
I suggested concrete counter tops. They are very versatile – can be any color, as the paint color is poured completely thru the concrete, seams are reduced, and the material is very stain resistant with little maintenance.
Next, the client said she wanted a pop of red. Hummm, how about spray painting the stainless steel range hood red? Voila!
